The colour plates of Manly P. Hall's folio encyclopaedia of symbolism, published in San Francisco in 1928. Most were painted by J. Augustus Knapp; two reproduce oil paintings by Mihran K. Serailian; two carry no artist's credit. The copy here is a photographed first edition on the Internet Archive, cropped to the plates, with Hall's own captions read from the page. Public domain in the United States since 1 January 2024.
