The state of the archive

What is here, how much of it has been read, who is quoted for it, and what has never been checked against the object itself. Every figure below is counted while the site is built, so none of it is a claim anybody had to remember to update.

The numbers that are not finished are printed here on purpose. An archive that prints only what it has done is asking to be taken on trust, and this one is not asking for that: the works filed by motif and not yet read are listed on the wall with the rest, and every reading names the book it came from so that it can be checked and, where it is wrong, corrected.
