Illustrations of the Book of Job, 1825
Twenty-two engravings published by William Blake himself in March 1825, the last major work he finished. Blake cut his own selected scripture into the margins of every plate, so each picture carries its key on the same sheet in the same hand, and the choosing of the verses is itself his reading of the book. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds the series and releases it under CC0.
